A Young Man Receives A DUI Arrest And Decides To Hire A DUI Lawyer

Although Franklin wasn't a lawyer, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a "drunk driving" arrest, represented himself in court, paid two thousand dollars in fines and penalties, and served one month in the local city jail. As he told his son, after he got released from jail, he found out from a lawyer friend that if he would have hired a "drunk driving lawyer to represent him in court, he more likely than not would have had his penalties and fines significantly reduced and he may have never served any time in the local city jail.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more facts about DUIs and so he asked his dad for more information about what a "drunk driving" lawyer can do in a DWI arrest. His dad then articulated the following: "If you have prior DUI convictions, hiring a DUI lawyer to represent you is strongly recommended. Why? Because DUI lawyers know how to get prior convictions removed from your record, thereby possibly reducing your penalties to a great extent should you be convicted."

When Lawrence listened to his dad explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the importance of hiring a "driving under the influence" attorney. Near the end of their conversation, Lawrence said that he was beginning to comprehend more about "drunk driving" laws and what DWI attorneys can do for an individual who has received a "driving under the influence" arrest.

After getting "schooled" about "driving under the influence" arrests, the role of DWI attorneys, and the fact that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence made up his mind that he would without a doubt hire a DWI attorney to represent him in the local court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence finally started to comprehend the serious nature of "drunk driving" arrests and, as a consequence, he decided that from this point forward, he would always drink in moderation so that he would never again have to go through another DWI arrest.

His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "son, it took me until I was fifty years old to realize what you just told me. I am really proud of you." This did wonders for his self esteem and so Lawrence thanked his dad and then said, "if I can always drink responsibly, I will never need to hire a drunk driving lawyer again!"

Regrettably, there was one issue that neither Lawrence nor his father considered, namely, if Lawrence is displaying any alcohol abuse signs or perhaps if he is displaying any of the routine signs of alcoholism. If truth be known, if Lawrence is manifesting any alcohol signs that point to alcohol abuse or alcohol addiction, more likely than not he will need alcohol treatment.

In all honesty, Lawrence may be mandated by the court to get rehab for his hazardous and abusive drinking. The good news, conversely, is that whatever it takes to deal with his hazardous and excessive drinking, it seems like Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
